Optima brown table lamp by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup, early 70s

Hans Due's ufo-style lamp series Optima was launched by Fog & Mørup in 1972 and consisted of seven models in white – three pendant lamps, two floor lamps with one and two spots respectively, a table lamp and a wall lamp. Yellow and brown editions followed in 1973, and this is the brown 1973 edition of the Optima table lamp. It has a height of 56 cm, a base diameter of 21 cm, a head diameter of 20 cm and an overall max width including base and head of 34 cm. The lamp is in good condition with overall general wear in the form of small scuffs and scratches (see photos). Thanks to a ball-and-socket type joint in the arm attaching it to the stem, the head can be adjusted to point at any angle. The lamp comes complete with its original inline on/off switch and European two-pin plug, and takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w. The original Fog & Mørup catalogues particularly recommended the use of a crown mirror bulb, and one of these is supplied with the lamp.
