ES Horn of Denmark tomato-red space-age ball-shaped pendant light, 1960s

This classic space-age glossy tomato-red steel pendant light was made in the 1960s by Danish lighting company ES Horn Belysning of Aalestrup and is Horn's interpretation of Verner Panton's 1959 Topan design for Louis Poulsen. Stronger and heavier than both the Topan itself and most other lights based on it, this ES Horn version has been produced to an exceptionally high standard of quality and is in very good condition with only a couple of minuscule (around 1 mm) marks to the paint (pictured). The lamp has a diameter of 17 cm and a height of 16cm and takes a standard-sized Edison screw-fitting bulb up to 60w (not supplied).
