Ultra pendant light designed in the early 1960s by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup

When Jo Hammerborg joined Fog & Mørup as creative director at the end of the 1950s he set about completely transforming the company's product range, bringing in a sleek modernist aesthetic that reflected his training as a silversmith and his previous work at Georg Jensen. The Ultra was one of 24 new Hammerborg lights that featured in Fog & Mørup's April 1963 catalogue. With a diameter of 30 cm and a height of 20 cm, the light's copper body has a satinised exterior finish and an orange-painted interior and is in excellent condition with only minor signs of age and previous use. It takes a standard E27 Edison screw bulb max 100W or low-energy equivalent (not supplied).
