Pendant lamp by K Kewo for Nordisk Solar Compagni

This funky retro space-age light was designed in the 1960s by K Kewo and produced by Danish lighting manufacturer Nordisk Solar Compagni. Similar in style and scale to Panton's Flowerpot, the light has a diameter of 23cm (9 inches) and a height of 19cm (7.5 inches). Entitled Minisol, the light has been constructed from moulded ABS plastic – a speciality of Nordisk Solar Compagni at the time courtesy of their Audiola 1-producing business. This bright yellow vintage example is in excellent condition with no scratching or scuffing to the glossy plastic. A slight hairline crack at the top of the light where the electric cable enters is a production flaw that has no functional consequence and is not uncommon in these lights. The lamp retains its original yellow cable and Nordisk Solar Compagni-branded bulbholder, both in excellent condition. It takes an Edison screw-fitting bulb max 75w (not supplied).
