Award-winning Piccolo series yellow pendant lamp by Lyfa of Denmark, 1970s

The International Forum (iF) Product Design Awards have been presented annually since 1953 to products deemed by an international committee of experts to be of outstanding excellence in design. Recipients include the Piccolo lamp series, created by Danish lighting company Lyfa and awarded the iF Product Design Award in 1975. 

Out of production since the late 1970s, the Piccolo series was a very high-quality production, made from extremely strong metal, with a glossy finish. This pendant lamp member of the Piccolo series is in superb condition and shows very little sign of its age. Measuring 14.5 cm in diameter and with a height of 20.5 cm, its compact size means that it is ideally suited for use as an area light, for example over a coffee table, reading chair, desk or work space. It takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w (not supplied) and retains its original Lyfa label.
