This fabric was designed by Verner Panton in 1971 for Swiss textiles company Mira-X as part of the Mira-Spectrum range of geometric designs in various colourways, this example being concentric circles in a graduated range of magenta reds from vivid pinks through to burgundy. The fabric has been roughly hemmed on left and right edges while the top and bottom selvedges remain unhemmed, the lower selvedge being printed with the textile's details thus: "Mira-Spectrum Designed by Verner Panton for Mira-X AG – 100% Co". Measuring 90 cm wide and 125 cm in length, the textile is in very good condition with a few minor signs of its historical use as a table covering, predominantly in the form of a few faint stains to the reverse side (see photos). Alternatively the panel could be stretched and/or framed for display as a textile artwork.
