Ny-Mag bubble light pairs by Abo Randers Denmark

Offered as a matching pair in a very rare purple colour (the yellow pair pictured here is now sold), these top-quality vintage pop art bubble lamps are entitled Ny-Mag and were made in the late 1960's and early 70's by the Abo lighting company of Randers, Denmark. The glossy lacquered steel ball-shaped heads are held in place by a magnet concealed in the polished stainless steel neck, and can be swivelled around to point in any direction. They can be used either as table lamps or as spotlights, and the bases can easily be screwed to a wall or shelf via a central screw channel specifically intended for that purpose. The magnet is strong enough to hold the lamp head in place even upside down. The lamps stand approximately 15.5 cm tall and come with their original inline on/off switches and European-style two-pin plugs. They take a small Edison screw golfball bulb max 40w (not supplied) and are in excellent condition.
