Red Ny-Mag ball desk/table lamp or wall/spotlight by Abo Randers Denmark

This top-quality vintage pop art ball lamp is entitled Ny-Mag and was made in the late 1960's to early 70's by the Abo lighting company of Randers, Denmark. The glossy red lacquered steel ball-shaped head is held in place by a magnet concealed in the base, and can be swivelled around to point in any direction. The lamp is designed for service as a desk or table or bedside lamp, or as a wall-mounted spotlight, for which purpose the base can easily be screwed to a wall or shelf via a central screw channel specifically intended for that purpose. The magnet is strong enough to hold the lamp head in place even upside down. The lamp stands approximately 16 cm tall and comes with its original inline on/off switch, European two-pin plug and Abo Randers label. It takes a small Edison screw golfball bulb max 40w (not supplied) and is in excellent condition with minimal signs of previous use.
