Red space-age ball lamp by ES Horn Belysning A/S of Denmark
This Danish space-age ball lamp was produced in the 1970s by ES Horn Belysning of Aalestrup, Denmark. The robust ball-shaped red lacquered metal head is attached to the base by a concealed magnet so strong that it clings on even when turned competely upside down, but can be swivelled around freely to adjust the position. Standing 16cm tall, the lamp is intended for use as either a freestanding table lamp or a spotlight, for which it can be screwed to a wall via a hole that runs through the centre of the magnetic base. The lamp is in excellent condition with minimal wear, and retains its ES Horn labels to the base, as well as its original inline on/off switch and two-pin European plug. It takes a small Edison screw golfball bulb max 40w (not supplied) and is in full working order.
