Danish textiles company Södahl Design A/S was founded in 1963 by artist and designer Hans-Jürgen Schöbel as a vehicle for his own artworks, a range of distinctive and colourful pop-art designs which were screenprinted onto hessian/jute or occasionally heavy cotton fabric to make table linen and wallhangings. These products proved immensely popular and could be found in many Danish homes throughout the 60s and 70s.
