Sodahl Design of Denmark apple tree mats (2)

A pair of table placemats produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s by Södahl Design A/S of Denmark, the company founded in 1963 by artist and designer Hans-Jürgen Schöbel as a vehicle for his own textile artworks. This pair is in mint unused condition and is printed with an apple tree motif in dark chocolate brown, terracotta and orange on a natural ivory background. The mats are finished with dark chocolate brown piping and measure 35 x 49 cm each.
