Graters and slicers designed by Bjarne Bo of Denmark

These stylish graters and slicers or mandolins were designed in 1965 by Bjarne Bo and produced in Denmark. The rounded handle and shoulders of these classic space-age kitchenware items allow the devices to be gripped firmly either by threading fingers through the hole or by grasping the whole handle. Measuring 7.5cm x 22.5cm (3 x 8.75 inches), the grater is entirely made from very strong melamine which offers a surprisingly sharp and effective shredding mechanism. The slicer/mandolin is also melamine but has a metal blade.
