Grautex beech trees photo silkscreen fabric art

One of a series of photosilkscreen prints produced in the 1960s by Grautex and Cotil of tree prints by Danish photographer/designer Ronald Hansen, this huge hand-printed 100% cotton fabric print measures 118 cm wide (plus 1.5 cm each side unprinted selvedge) and 263 cm in height (plus 1.5 cm unprinted margin at the top and approx 2.5 cm unprinted margin at the bottom). Printed in burgundy on a natural white background, the print is in excellent condition with a little intermittent discolouration to the selvedge but not in the print area. The selvedge is marked "Beeches • An Art Handprint • Copenhagen • Design Ronald Hansen".
