Vintage 1960s/70s Philips electric alarm clock
Vintage 1960s/70s Philips electric alarm clock
Shaped like a plump half-cheese with funky late 60s/early 70s psychedelic styling, this vintage Philips electric alarm clock is in excellent and fully functioning condition. The white case is impressed on the base with the Philips crest and logo and various details about the clock including its type number HR 5382, the letters N, S and D in circles (indicating that it was produced for sale in the Scandinavian countries Norway, Sweden and Denmark) and the fact that it was made in West Germany.
Measuring 12cm (4.75 inches) wide and 7.5cm (3 inches) tall and deep, the clock is fitted with its original European two-pin plug. The alarm time and clock time are both set via the black dial button on the reverse side: depress the button fully and turn anti-clockwise to move the alarm setting hand, or (very gently) pull it out to its maximum extent and turn anti-clockwise to reset the time.
