Bright red cobra snake table lamp 60s/70s

With its flexible and infinitely positionable stem measuring 100cm in length, this shiny red metal-headed cobra-style lamp has lots in common with Isao Hosoe's 1970 Hebi design, but differs from the Hebi in the size and shape of its head – instead of the Hebi's 8.5cm diameter cup-shaped head this one has a much larger ball-shaped head with a diameter of 14.5cm, and the snakey stem is proportionately chunkier than the Hebi's too, making this altogether a lamp with a larger presence. Fitted with its original stylish inline on/off switch and European two-pin plug, the lamp is in very good condition with some small signs of age and use, most notably a 1cm scratch to the paintwork on the head. Takes standard small SES screw fitting bulb (not supplied).
