Rud Thygesen & Johnny Sørensen Peberrasp mill

In mint condition in its original box, a rare original PP Line version of this modernist design classic that appears in design museums worldwide including the Design Study Collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Die Neue Sammlung at the Staatliches Museum für Angewandte Kunst in Munich. Designed in 1973 by furniture designers Rud Thygesen & Johnny Sørensen and put into production by PP Line in 1979, the Peberrasp was later produced in an aluminium version by Rosenthal but is now out of production. With a height of 15.3 cm and a diameter of 3.2 cm, this Peberrasp is in white enamelled steel with a black melamine plunger.

A panel underneath the box describes the mill's unique mode of operation. "Unlike the traditional pepper mill, the pepper rasp is worked with one hand only. It is easy to operate, as one needs only to press the button with thumb or index finger for the pepper to be ground out at the bottom."
