Krinoline pendant light by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, early 1960s

With an emerald green outer band and a light grey inner cone section, this rarely seen pendant lamp was one of Jo Hammerborg's earliest designs for Fog & Mørup, dating to the early 1960s. Entitled Krinoline, the lamp was only produced in small numbers at the time, but nearly a decade later Hammerborg reimagined it as the Zone, part of his 1969 Rainbow Line series. The Krinoline is smaller and stronger than the Zone, having a diameter of 28.5 cm and a height of 18.5 cm (compared to the Zone's 36 cm diameter and 27 cm height) and being made from powder-coated steel rather than the Zone's lighter aluminium construction. The Krinoline takes an Edison screw E27 bulb max 60w (or eco alternative) and is in very good condition with minimal signs of age and use. It would be particularly suited to hang over a dining table, kitchen island, coffee table or other situations where glare-free localised illumination is required.
