Danish art textile with geometric Puzzle I design by Verner Panton, 1970s

This crisp cotton fabric panel was purchased in Denmark and dates to the late 1970s. The geometric interlocking double-axehead design was created by Verner Panton and is entitled Puzzle I (ref. Vitra Design Museum 2001, Verner Panton: The Collected Works, pp.332–3). Measuring 96cm wide by 126cm in length and screenprinted in brick, tan, beige and blackish brown on a white background, the textile is a medium-weight cotton in excellent condition with no wear. It has been hemmed on all edges, with a 2cm channel along the top side to allow it to be hung as an artwork or curtain (hanging pole not included).
