Acrylic/perspex multi-use lamp by Yki Nummi for Orno Finland, 1960s
An ultra-rare multi-purpose table/floor/pendant lamp designed by Yki Nummi for Orno of Finland in the 1960s. With a white acrylic body, a smoked plexiglas/perspex outer band and solid brass details, this is a high-quality production from Finland's premier lighting producer of the period and provides effective but glare-free illumination. A label inside the main body reads "Design Yki Nummi. Orno. Made in Finland". The dimensions of the lamp make it equally suitable for use as a low-level floor lamp in a Scandi-style interior or as a conventional table lamp, while diverting the cable so that it doesn't pass through the side exit hole would alternatively allow it to be used as a pendant light. The lamp is in excellent condition with minimal signs of previous use. It takes an Edison screw fitting bulb max 100w (not supplied) and has its original European two-pin plug.
