Lento table/desk lamp by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, 1960s

Jo Hammerborg's Lento table/desk lamp series was launched by Fog & Mørup in the mid-1960s in three versions – aluminium, brass and copper. This example is the solid brass edition and is in excellent condition with no damage and with appropriate patination for its age. The 14cm diameter head can be tilted through a wide angle (see photos) and when the head is pointing directly downwards the lamp has an overall height of 51 cm. The heavily weighted base has a diameter of 20 cm and gives the lamp an overall weight of 3.4 kg and makes it exceedingly stable. The depth of the head and mount is 31.5 cm when the head is pointing directly downwards. The lamp comes complete with its original inline on/off switch and European two-pin plug, and takes a standard Edison screw bulb max 60w.
